Archer Loc Thi Dao breaks national archery record at age 33

Athlete of the Vietnamese archery team Loc Thi Dao broke a national record when competing in the 2026 Excellent Archer Championship.

The 2026 National Excellent Archer Championship just closed on April 9 in Quang Ninh and Loc Thi Dao is one of the archers who achieved the best results.

At the tournament, the Organizing Committee recorded 4 new national records. Among them, archer Loc Thi Dao (Hanoi) is the owner of the national record in the women's 70m all-around recurve event. She achieved a score of 669 points, breaking the old record of athlete Trieu Huyen Diep achieved in 2023 at 664 points.

Currently, Loc Thi Dao is 33 years old and is one of the most experienced faces in the women's recurve event of the Vietnamese archery team.

Also at the tournament, athlete Le Thuy Phuong Nhi (HCMC) broke 2 national records respectively in the women's 60m compound bow and women's 30m compound bow events. Athlete Tran Nhat Hoang (HCMC) broke the national record in the men's 70m compound bow events.

At the end of the 2026 National Excellent Archer Championship, the Hanoi team ranked No. 1 with achievements of 13 gold medals, 16 silver medals and 11 bronze medals.

Vinh Long team ranked 2nd (10 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 10 bronze medals). Ho Chi Minh City team won third place with a result of 6 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 8 bronze medals.

At the end of the tournament, Loc Thi Dao continued to return to the National High-Level Athlete Training Center to train with the Vietnamese Archery Team.
