Vietnamese archery team does not extend contract with Olympic-compliant expert Park Chae-soon.

The sports sector and the Vietnamese Archery Team decided to part ways with expert Park Chae-soon after SEA Games 33. From the training phase at the beginning of 2026, the members of the Vietnamese Archery Team will be professionally directed by the domestic coaching staff.

Expert Park Chae-soon has signed a contract to work with the Vietnamese Archery Team since 2023. Before coming to Vietnam, Mr. Park Chae-soon was one of the experienced and specialized coaches of the Korean Archery Team. He participated in the coaching staff of the Korean Archery Team, winning many gold medals at the Olympics in 2012, 2016 and 2020.

When starting training in Vietnam, the Korean expert actively prepared professionally for the archer to achieve the highest level.

In 2024, expert Park Chae-soon and the Vietnamese Archery Team won 2 official slots to participate in the Olympics in France (Do Thi Anh Nguyet, Le Quoc Phong).

However, during his training period, this expert and the Vietnamese Archery Team competed in ASIAD 19, SEA Games 33 but did not win a gold medal. At the recent SEA Games 33, Vietnamese archers won 3 silver medals and 4 bronze medals.

Experts have returned home since the beginning of this year. In 2026, the Vietnamese Archery Team will focus on innovating expertise to aim for some important arenas.

Therefore, in the immediate future, the coaching staff will stabilize the training of key archers and then have competition plans to compete and improve their level.
