Finish the year's mission with the team
Although she has retired and switched to coaching, former player Pham Thi Yen is still a face that receives much affection from many Vietnamese volleyball fans.
Along with Kim Hue, Bui Thi Hue, Ngoc Hoa..., Pham Thi Yen is one of the stars of the "golden generation" of national women's volleyball and a monument of Army women's volleyball.
Currently, as a coach at the Information Corps women’s volleyball team, she is always enthusiastic about imparting skills, experience and lifestyle to young athletes. Therefore, many young players consider Pham Thi Yen a role model to follow.
Talking to Lao Dong, the former striker born in 1985 said that in the days leading up to Tet, she and the Signal Corps team raced to practice and complete lesson plans so that the players could return home with peace of mind to reunite with their families.
"The Information Corps Club finished training on January 23. Today (January 24), the team members will return home to prepare for Tet. In the past few days, the atmosphere in the team has been very happy, the players have high spirits. After Tet, some tournaments will start right away, so the whole team is always ready for new tasks.
Since head coach Pham Van Long led the team, whether it's new faces or players who have trained with him in the past, they've always been sociable, hardworking, and have a very good demeanor," Pham Thi Yen shared.
Tet is always a special occasion
Finishing her 2024 mission with the club, this is the time for Pham Thi Yen to spend time for herself and her family, preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025.
She said: "Because I practice according to the team's plan, whenever I have time off, I take the opportunity to buy peach blossoms to create a Tet atmosphere. With a busy schedule, I prepare things gradually. These days, friends and relatives start asking each other about the past year.
My relatives far away are also eagerly waiting for me to return. I really want to return to my family as soon as possible. Because I don't have my own home yet, I feel anxious to go home to wrap banh chung and go shopping for Tet with my relatives."
This year's Tet is quite special for the beauty from Ha Nam because at the beginning of 2025, she publicly announced that she is in a relationship. The former player of the Information Corps revealed that she is very happy and ready to welcome the new year with many wishes.
"I am grateful and appreciate everything right now. Everything is very special to me. But everything and further plans need time and careful arrangement.
At this age, I feel that I am more organized and know how to take care of everything more carefully. It seems that I am much calmer and no longer in a hurry. Every time Tet comes, I am always excited and feel much younger.
I hope this year will bring many successes and marks for me personally. I hope the Information Corps Club will achieve many good results, meeting the expectations of the board of directors," former player Pham Thi Yen expressed.
