On the evening of November 17, at Lao Cai Provincial Gymnasium, the final match of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship took place between VTV Binh Dien Long An Club and Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals.
After 4 intense sets, coach Thai Quang Lai's team excellently won 3-1 against their opponent, with scores of 25-15, 13-25, 25-20, 25-19.
After 6 years of waiting, VTV Binh Dien Long An was able to participate in a final match and win the national championship for the 5th time. Meanwhile, Duc Giang Chemicals competed in the final match for the 5th consecutive time with 4 other opponents but could not win.
In the end, VTV Binh Dien Long An won the championship, Duc Giang Chemicals came in second and LPB Ninh Binh won third place overall.
In addition to the collective awards, the organizing committee also awarded individual titles at the 2024 National Volleyball Championship - women's category.
Accordingly, the title of best attacker belonged to Chepchumpa of Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals. The Kenyan foreign player competed from the second stage and contributed greatly to helping the capital representative win a ticket to the final. She was also the top scorer for her home team, especially in the second set in the final match against VTV Binh Dien Long An.
In addition, Vo Thi Kim Thoa of VTV Binh Dien Long An won the award for best setter. Her teammate Nguyen Khanh Dang won the title of best defender.
Both are pillars of Long An in this year's season as well as the national team in recent times.
