Vietnamese sports delegation noted for peak performance at ASIAD 20

Chairman of the Vietnam Olympic Committee Nguyen Van Hung reminded the Vietnamese sports delegation to calculate the peak performance, prepare well in terms of expertise and logistics at ASIAD 20.

On the morning of September 19, Chairman of the Vietnam Olympic Committee Nguyen Van Hung and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Japan Pham Quang Hieu had a meeting to encourage the Vietnamese sports delegation to participate in ASIAD 20.

Reporting to the leaders of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, Head of Delegation Nguyen Hong Minh said that the living conditions of the teams have basically stabilized, and the health of athletes is guaranteed. The delegation also maintains support plans to handle requests arising during the competition.

The organization of ASIAD 20 without a centralized athlete village makes the operation more complicated. Members are arranged in many locations, including yachts, container housing areas and hotels. According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, the delegation has proactively developed a plan to ensure that the direction and support of the teams are not interrupted.

From a professional perspective, Chairman Nguyen Van Hung reminded the teams to calculate the peak performance, and at the same time choose a competition method suitable for each athlete.

He emphasized the role of coaches in closely monitoring the preparation process, helping athletes maintain the best state both professionally and psychologically. Shooting, athletics and sepak takraw were mentioned by Mr. Nguyen Van Hung in the group of sports with the ability to compete for achievements.

On this occasion, Chairman of the Vietnam Olympic Committee Nguyen Van Hung also presented the Vietnamese Sports Delegation with 100 million VND.

Also attending the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Japan Pham Quang Hieu affirmed that the Embassy will coordinate and support the Vietnamese Sports Delegation during the competition.

In Aichi, where many Vietnamese people live and work, the Ambassador wished the athletes to compete in the true spirit of sports, showing the image of Vietnam being united, honest and striving.

ASIAD 20 opened on September 19, with the participation of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation including 348 athletes, competing in 33 sports.
