The two teams Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City were approved to use new names from the 2025-2026 V.League season.

On the afternoon of July 14, in Hanoi, the draw for the 2025-2026 V.League competition schedule took place with the announcement of the renaming changes of the two teams Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City.

According to information from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), these two units have agreed to allow Binh Duong club to change its name to Becamex HCMC, and HCMC club to change its name to Ho Chi Minh City Police, starting from the 2025-2026 season.

The renaming of Binh Duong club to Becamex HCMC is part of the comprehensive restructuring plan on strategy, personnel and brand positioning of the team, to expand the fan base and enhance the potential to attract sponsorship. Previously, the leadership of Binh Duong club sent an official dispatch requesting permission to change the name and received approval from the organizing committee.

Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City club is allowed to use the name Ho Chi Minh City Police, a brand with a long history. Therefore, from the 2025-2026 season, Ho Chi Minh City football will have two representatives participating in the VLeague, including Ho Chi Minh City Police and Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, which is expected to create a vibrant return for the city's football after many quiet seasons.
