Ho Chi Minh City Police recruits overseas Vietnamese striker 1m90 tall

Ho Chi Minh City Police Club has just confirmed the recruitment of Vietnamese-American striker Williams Lee Oliver Grant.

Williams Lee was born in 2007, 1m90 tall, with a British father and a Vietnamese mother. Before returning to Vietnam, this player played for Warrington Town in the 6th Division of England (National League North), on loan from Stockport County. He has also played in the English League Cup in the 2024-2025 season.

Last August, The Cong Viettel signed a contract and held an official debut ceremony for Williams Lee. This young player can play as both a striker and an attacking midfielder, and is considered a potential face for the future.

However, because V.League only allows each team to register a maximum of 2 overseas Vietnamese players, The Cong Viettel was forced to lend Williams Lee to Ho Chi Minh City Police because they had given priority to two other players, Kyle Colonna and Damian Vu Thanh An.

According to the announcement from Ho Chi Minh City Police Club, Williams Lee will wear the number 33 shirt and be an important addition to the team's attack under the leadership of coach Le Huynh Duc. The coaching staff expects the presence of the young English striker of Vietnamese origin to help increase attacking power in the 2025-2026 V.League season, which is predicted to be very competitive.
