According to the announcement of Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), the play-off match between the 13th ranked team of V.League and the runner-up team of the First Division will take place at Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC) if the match involving the Central team meets the Southern team.
After identifying Binh Phuoc as the representative of the South and Da Nang as the representative of the Central region, the match was decided to be held in Ho Chi Minh City.
However, Da Nang club said that the organization at Thong Nhat Stadium was not suitable for geographical factors.
The Han River Football Team has sent an official dispatch requesting the re-section of the stadium located between the Central and Southern regions to facilitate the travel of the two teams and fans.
Accordingly, Da Nang club proposed to organize a play-off match at Quy Nhon Stadium (Binh Dinh province).
Currently, VPF has not responded to the proposal of Da Nang club.
The match between Da Nang and Binh Phuoc will take place at 6:00 p.m. on June 27. The play-off will only take place once, if there is a draw, the winner will be decided by a penalty shootout.
The match was supported by VAR technology and 2 foreign referees, but there were no foreign players participating in the competition because the First Division did not use foreign players.
Binh Phuoc is considered a formidable opponent with many experienced players in V.League such as Tran Phi Son, Bui Tan Truong, Huynh Tan Sinh and especially striker Nguyen Cong Phuong.
Coach Le Duc Tuan said that Da Nang will focus on locking down this explosive.
Da Nang has won the V.League twice and is one of the teams with a rich tradition.
After being relegated in the 2023 season, they returned to the V.League but continued to fight to keep their place in the next season. Meanwhile, Binh Phuoc is also receiving many expectations to have a ticket to play in the V.League for the first time.
