Vietnamese jujitsu team ranks second at the 2026 Asian Grand Prix

The Vietnamese jujitsu team made efforts to compete and won 9 gold medals to rank second overall at the 2026 Asian Grand Prix International.

The Vietnamese jujitsu martial artist completed the competition for the 2026 Asian Grand Prix International Tournament late on September 6 in Thailand.

At this tournament, the coaching staff of the Vietnamese Jujitsu Team sent a force to compete including many martial artists who are preparing for ASIAD 20.

The achievement of 9 gold medals of the Vietnamese jujitsu team was obtained from the competition results of Nguyen Tien Trien (85kg male), Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc (over 70kg female), Phung Thi Hue (48kg female), Tran Hong An (57kg female), Tran Viet Hoan (56kg male), Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc (over 70kg Nogi female), Vuong Tran Hoai Thuong (57kg Nogi female), Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc (over 70kg Fighting female), Phan Tuan Anh (69kg Fighting male).

Head coach Bui Dinh Tien said that the whole team maintained a good fighting spirit and accumulated more experience before participating in ASIAD 20.

After this tournament, the Vietnamese jujitsu martial artist returned to training at the National High-Level Athlete Training Center to prepare to go to Japan in mid-September.

On the overall standings of the 2026 Asian International Grand Prix, host Thailand holds the No. 1 position with 17 gold medals, 23 silver medals, and 23 bronze medals.

The Vietnamese team ranked second (9 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 4 bronze medals) while the third place was the Philippines team (6 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 7 bronze medals).

Behind the top 3 teams are the teams of Kazakhstan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), France, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
