The 2026 Southeast Asian Jujitsu Championship opened on the evening of August 21st in Cambodia.
This year, more than 500 athletes from 8 countries in the region participated in the competition.
In addition to the content for the championship system, athletes compete in young age groups from U12 to U21 for men and women.
On the first day, the Vietnamese jujitsu team won 21 gold medals, 20 silver medals and 20 bronze medals. We are temporarily leading the medal standings.
On the day of competition in the men's 69kg weight class, martial artist Dang Dinh Tung defeated teammate Le Trong Hoang (from Vietnam) to win the championship.
The victory is assessed by experts that Dang Dinh Tung's form is still stable.
Last year, Dinh Tung was the only martial artist of the Vietnamese jujitsu team to win a gold medal at SEA Games 33.
In addition to the above results, some well-trained faces such as Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc (over 70kg female), Phung Thi Hue (45kg female) and Tran Hong An (57kg female), Le Minh Nhut (over 93kg male), Vu Thi Anh Thu (63kg female) also won gold medals.
On the first day of the tournament, many events for the U21 male and female age groups were organized.
In the first events, the Vietnamese jujitsu team won 10 gold medals in each U21 event.
This year's tournament lasts until the end of August 23. Fighters from 8 teams will compete in many events in the following days.
The goal of the Vietnamese Jujitsu Team is to strive to win the No. 1 position, successfully defending the results from the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship.
