Dao Hong Son is 1 of the 10 martial artists of the Jujitsu Team participating in the tournament. This year, the 2026 World Jujitsu Contact Tournament is held in Turkey from May 14 to May 17.
On the opening day (evening of May 14 local time), Dao Hong Son entered the final of the men's 56kg contact event. The Vietnamese fighter competed against opponent Amirshe Gibrat (Kazakhstan) and won.
This is Dao Hong Son's first gold medal at this tournament in Turkey.
On the same opening day, the Vietnamese jujitsu team won other gold medals from the competition results of martial artists Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc (over 70kg women), Phung Thi Hue (45kg women), Nguyen Thi Le (48kg women), Tran Hong An (57kg women).
This is a tournament for the contact technique of jujitsu. The competing martial artist will use the techniques of pressing, pressing, tightening, breaking, and wrestling.
In the results on the first day, Phung Thi Hue's gold medal achievement was highly appreciated by the coaching staff of the Vietnamese Jujitsu Team. This veteran female martial artist no longer regularly competes in high-achievement tournaments internationally, but she excellently won the championship in Turkey.
This year's tournament attracts 245 martial artists from 16 countries and territories around the world to participate. Athletes compete in contact and HIF contact events.
