On September 4, the Vietnamese jujitsu team arrived in Thailand to participate in the 2026 Asian Grand Prix.
The official competition program of the tournament takes place from September 5 to September 6.
At the 2026 Asian Grand Prix, the Vietnamese jujitsu team registered 10 martial artists to participate in the men's and women's events.
In the competition, martial artist Phung Thi Hue is present. She is the most experienced face of the current Vietnamese jujitsu team and also has a spot to participate in ASIAD 20.
The Vietnamese jujitsu team sends players to compete in the 2026 Asian Grand Prix to accumulate expertise to prepare for the upcoming ASIAD 20.
Recently, Phung Thi Hue participated in the 2026 Asian Championship and the 2026 Southeast Asian Championship. She both won gold medals in these 2 tournaments.
The 2026 Asian Championship has attracted many top fighters from the continent to participate, including some faces who will compete at ASIAD 20.
Last year, Phung Thi Hue did not compete in SEA Games 33. This year, she was retrained by the coaching staff of the Vietnamese Jujitsu Team to perform national duties at ASIAD 20.
In her career, Phung Thi Hue won a bronze medal in the women's 48kg weight class at ASIAD 19 held in Hangzhou (China) in 2023.
