Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong emphasized that the implementation of cooperation on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in training to improve sports performance is the initiative of the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Administration in disseminating and implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
Appreciating the proactiveness of the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Administration in finding and selecting partners, the Deputy Minister affirmed that the application of AI in training to improve sports performance is one of the top requirements and tasks for the sports industry.

Reporting to the Deputy Minister at the meeting, Head of the High Performance Sports Department Hoang Quoc Vinh said that in international arenas, sports powers such as China, the US, Australia... all have a team of scientists and technologists accompanying and supporting a lot in training, tactics, injury prevention...
It is expected that AI technology will initially be applied in 4 sports includingung Thung,ung Thung, Taekwondo, Boxing in analyzing professional factors such as shooting lines, shooting lines of athletes (forung Thung Thung,ung Thung Thung), pillars, analyzing injury prevention capabilities, accuracy (for Taekwondo, Boxing)...

The indicators are converted to compare with the world level. The focus of the application is to support data processing of 3 groups of users including management levels, athletes and the public.
Group 1 is for management levels including State agencies and coaches. The collected data will support investment assessment, competition selection or support the coaching staff and coaches to give appropriate exercises and calculate fitness dropping scores.
Group 2 is a group of athletes who improve their performance. Through the qualified data, athletes will be able to grasp accurately the information about training and competition to adjust themselves.
Group 3 is the public group. In addition to supporting training and practice, the application also has a communication connection to the community, thereby providing information to help the community and fans get a closer look at the sports industry.
Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong affirmed that this is a suitable period to deploy the application of AI in training to improve sports achievements.
The Deputy Minister requested relevant parties to urgently develop a detailed plan and implement it as soon as possible, so that within the next 2 months, it is necessary to collect initial information to support the work of evaluating, preparing forces and lists of athletes for the 33rd SEA Games.

"The implementation plan needs to ensure timely assessment of the training results of athletes, support the training and selection of teams. I suggest that it should be urgently deployed, not leaving long thunderstorms.
This is a turning point activity for the sports industry. In the immediate future, it will be applied to 4 sports, these are also 4 key and key sports, when implemented well, it will continue to be spread" - the Deputy Minister said.
