The 2026 World Archery Cup is still competing in Shanghai (China). At noon on May 7 Vietnam time, the Vietnamese archery team won their first bronze medal.
We competed in the bronze medal match in the men's team recurve event against the US team. In this match, 3 players Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu, Le Quoc Phong and Nguyen Duy played prominently to win the overall victory with a score of 5-3.
The victory helped the Vietnamese archery team win a medal for the first time when participating in the World Cup level tournament.
At the 2026 World Cup in Shanghai (China), the Vietnamese archery team registered to compete with 11 athletes including Loc Thi Dao, Trieu Huyen Diep, Hoang Phuong Thao, Le Quoc Phong, Dang Cong Duc, Nguyen Thi Hai Chau, Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu, Nguyen Duy, Tran Xuan Huong, Duong Duy Bao, Hoang Thi Mai.
The coaching staff registered archers to compete in the men's and women's recurve and compound events in the tournament.
With the 1-string bow, we only have a men's team bronze medal. The women's team stopped in the quarterfinals. With the 3-string bow, the men's and women's teams did not enter the team medal group.
The 2026 World Cup in Shanghai (China) will continue until May 10. After the team event, the Vietnamese archery team still has archers competing individually in the recurve archery. On May 8, Nguyen Duy, Loc Thi Dao, and Trieu Huyen Diep will compete in the recurve archery in the 3rd round.
