The target of winning the 33rd SEA Games gold medal is the requirement assigned by the leaders of the sports industry to the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team when developing a professional plan for 2025.
Mr. Le Tri Truong - General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation once affirmed: "The target of winning gold medals is a very high target. However, the team took on the task to prepare hard to strive for the set results. The high target is the pressure for each coach and player to focus on preparing and conquering".
The 33rd SEA Games women's volleyball ( indoor) has only 7 participating teams. Of course, as the host and reigning SEA Games champion, coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai's team (Thailand) is still a strong candidate to win the No. 1 championship at SEA Games 33. In the group stage of the 33rd SEA Games, they will compete in Group A with the Philippines and Singapore.
In history, the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team has never won a gold medal at the SEA Games. Our best result came in the silver medal.
In all the SEA Games finals that Vietnamese players participated in, we lost to Thailand. In the group stage of the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team will compete in Group B with Indonesia, Myanmar and Malaysia.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet once shared at the time the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team participated in the 2025 SEA V.League: "All players who are focused on the national team must be best prepared. We aim to achieve high results at the SEA Games, so the determination must be the highest".

This year, before the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team will face Thailand in 2 matches. We lost 2-3 to the other team in the first leg of the 2025 SEA V.League but won 3-2 in the second leg.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said: Vietnamese players keep a good spirit when training to compete in international tournaments throughout the training period.
However, we were interrupted because the players had to participate in round 2 of the national championship. Therefore, the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team will have to regain the tempo when athletes return to training".
The 32nd SEA Games in 2023 will see the first time the Vietnam Women's Volleyball Team has won a set against Thailand. We lost to our team in the final with a score of 1-3. However, the developments on the field at that time showed that Vietnamese players played football with the highest effort, creating a tug-of-war without falling into an overwhelming position.
After 2 years, the women's volleyball teams in the Southeast Asian region have all changed positively. Each team has a specific achievement goal at the 33rd SEA Games.
