The Vietnamese women's boxing team has registered 2 boxers to compete in the 2026 Asian Championships being held in Mongolia. The tournament will last until April 10, however, 2 Vietnamese athletes have finished their events.
In the women's 57kg weight class, boxer Nguyen Huyen Tran lost to Thai opponent Punrawee with a score of 0-5 in the first round. Therefore, Huyen Tran had to stop.
In the women's 48kg weight class, on April 5 (local time), athlete Pham Thi Quynh Anh reached the quarterfinals to compete against Nomumdari Enkh-Amglan (Mongolia). However, our athlete lost with a score of 1-4.
Thus, the Vietnamese women's boxing team did not win a medal at the 2026 Asian Championships.
Last year, we participated in the tournament and won 3 silver medals, 1 bronze medal. The silver medals of the Vietnamese women's boxing team at the above tournament belonged to Ha Thi Linh, Ngo Ngoc Linh Chi, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tran.
This year, the 2026 Asian Championship is organized by the World Boxing Organization (World Boxing). At the tournament, athletes participating in the women's event must have gender test results sent to the Organizing Committee. Two Vietnamese boxers have completed the above test and are eligible to compete.
