The 2026 National Beach Kurash Championship ended in Vung Tau (HCMC) on March 8, recording 208 athletes from 12 units across the country participating in the competition.
With 19 events organized, male and female kurash fighters nationwide competed in the most attractive matches on the beach arena.
At the end of this tournament, the Army kurash athlete led the overall team when achieving a total of 5 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 8 bronze medals.
The home team Ho Chi Minh City ranked second with 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 5 bronze medals. Third place belonged to the Hanoi team (2 gold medals, 4 silver medals).
According to the coaching staff of the Vietnamese Kurash Team, the tournament has been a good professional test for boxers nationwide to prepare forces for ASIAD 20. Vietnamese sports are expected to register to participate in the kurash sport at this Games.
The organizers of ASIAD 20 are expected to include 3 male weight classes and 3 female weight classes for kurash. The male weight classes include 66kg, 81kg, over 90kg. The women's category includes 57kg, 78kg, over 87kg. The competition takes place in September in Japan.
Kush will be in the competition program of the X-2026 National Sports Games in December in Ho Chi Minh City. Therefore, many units at the 2026 National Beach Kush Championship have carefully considered the opponents who have participated in the competition.
