On July 7, wushu athletes from 30 countries and territories around the world began competing in taolu (performance) events at the opening day of the 2026 World taolu Cup – World Cup 2026 in China.
On the first day, the Vietnamese wushu team won 2 medals (1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal).
The silver medal result belonged to athlete Nguyen Van Sy in the men's swordplay event.
The event had 8 athletes competing for medals. After the performance, Nguyen Van Sy was scored 9.740 points by the professional board, ranked second, and received a silver medal.
The next achievement is Duong Thuy Vi's bronze medal in women's swordplay.
She scored 9.730 points in her performance to win 3rd place at the Taolu World Cup 2026.
The entire tournament organizes 22 events for men and women according to the regulations of taolu.
The Vietnamese wushu team participates with 3 athletes in this year's tournament.
On July 8, Duong Thuy Vi and her teammates continued to compete in the following exercises. This is the 4th time the World Taolu Cup has been held.
In the 3rd time held in Japan in 2024, the Vietnamese wushu team won 1 silver medal (Duong Thuy Vi) and 1 bronze medal (Dang Tran Phuong Nhi). This year, young face Dang Tran Phuong Nhi did not participate in the tournament.
