On June 15, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City coordinated with S.I.S Can Tho International General Hospital to organize the 4th SUP City Board Boat Race in 2025.
In her opening speech, Ms. Dao Thi Thanh Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City - emphasized the appeal of SUP. This is a modern water sport, can be played on many types of terrain from river, lake to sea. Although it has only appeared in Vietnam in recent years, Sup has quickly conquered a large number of participants, especially young people who love to explore and experience.
This year's tournament attracted nearly 500 enthusiastic athletes from many places, including agencies, units, organizations and individuals living, studying and working in and outside the city. Many outstanding units participated such as Binh Thuy, Ninh Kieu, O Mon districts, S.I.S Can Tho International General Hospital, Can Tho Children's Hospital, The Green Paddle Club, FPT University and Can Tho University...
The race is not only a sports playground but also an important lever to promote the sports movement in general and SUP in particular in the community, responding to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".
Ms. Dao Thi Thanh Thuy expressed her belief that this event will contribute to creating more attractive entertainment areas, attracting tourists from provinces and cities to Can Tho to attend and cheer. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to create many exciting sports activities, a joyful and exciting atmosphere, encouraging people to increase health training, serving the need to enjoy everyone's cultural and spiritual life.
