Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports; representatives of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and leaders of departments, agencies, local branches, tournament organizers and sponsors.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Deputy Secretary General of VFF; Co-Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament said that the National Women's Football Cup has been organized since 2019 and is increasingly affirming its position in the national competition system. Through each season, professional quality has been improved, making an important contribution to the development of the movement and building a force for Vietnamese women's football.
Representatives of the organizing committee emphasized that with the careful preparation of the host unit, the fighting spirit of the teams and the companionship of sponsors and fans, the 2026 tournament promises to be attractive, dedicated and promote the spirit of fair-play.
Before the opening ceremony, an early match at 4:00 PM took place between Ho Chi Minh City women's club and Hanoi 1. As a result, Ho Chi Minh City women's club won 2-1, thereby having a favorable start to the tournament.
