The 2025 Kendo Vietnam Championship will take place from November 20 to 23 in Ninh Binh. In its first organization, the tournament gathered 250 athletes from 23 clubs nationwide, marking a significant expansion of the movement and showing maturity in organizing national tournaments.
In addition to the large competition force, this year's tournament also has the participation of 25 international referees, contributing to ensuring that the contents are conducted according to the technical standards of the International Kendo Federation (FIK).
According to the schedule, the program will start on November 20 with an in-depth seminar (seminar-like format), focusing on 3 groups of topics: technical standards, updated competition rules and coaching orientation according to the FIK system.
This activity combines the method of teaching and explaining rules to unify the understanding between groups, reduce skill differences and create connectivity during the training process.
On November 21, the entrance exam from 1 Kyu to 3 level recognized by FIK took place under the professional supervision of Higashi Yoshimi Sensei, Hanshi 8-level.
The exam process is fully implemented from document testing, personality assessment to technical assessment. Organizing the exam right in Vietnam helps candidates significantly reduce costs and creates conditions for clubs to build a sustainable promotion roadmap.
From November 22 to 23, the combat contents according to the VKF regulations and the FIK law will be conducted in a separate functional area system, including the start area, stadium, technical room and medical area.
The drawing and updating of results are operated on a unified data platform, supporting the delegations to be proactive in tactics and allocating physical strength.
In terms of professional goals, the Kendo Vietnam Championship 2025 aims to standardize the qualifications of athletes, coaches and referees according to international criteria. When technical standards and training methods are synchronized, the new movement will have a solid foundation to aim for continental and world tournaments.
The tournament also focuses on expanding the club system, promoting next-generation training and enhancing cultural exchanges through martial arts.
Tam Chuc (Ninh Binh) was chosen as the venue thanks to its synchronous infrastructure and the ability to meet the requirements of accommodation, security, healthcare and event management for many days.
