According to the Regulations, the final matches take place in 2 standard chess games (first and second legs). If the chess players of both sides keep a draw after 2 standard games, the Organizing Committee continues to compete in rapid and blitz chess games to determine the winner and loser.
In the standard first leg, Ha Van Tien and Nguyen Thanh Bao kept a draw. Both chess players are not unfamiliar with each other's moves. Therefore, each side maintained caution.
In the second leg, competing on April 9, Ha Van Tien had a victory over Nguyen Thanh Bao, thereby winning the overall victory and winning a gold medal in standard men's chess.
In this year's standard men's chess event, player Lai Ly Huynh did not win a medal due to losing in the quarterfinals.
In the women's standard chess final. Lai Quynh Tien and Dam Thi Thuy Dung also drew in the first leg. Playing the second leg on April 9, chess player Dam Thi Thuy Dung won. She officially won a gold medal in women's standard chess at the tournament.
