The Trial Panel sentenced the initial sentence to 6 months in prison, not granting a suspended sentence. However, because the defendants honestly confessed, the sentence was reduced to 3 months. At the same time, the court decided to switch to the form of detention under probation for a corresponding period.
According to the assessment of functional agencies, the above behavior seriously affects the transparency and fairness in the process of selecting professional eSports athletes. The incident is also said to have damaged the image of Thai sports in the international arena.
The representative of the Pathumwan District Court emphasized that the defendants intentionally overcame security barriers established to ensure fairness for the tournament. "This act greatly damages the reputation of the national competition system," the court representative said.
