In the bustling atmosphere of the early days of Binh Ngo Spring 2026, on the 20th, 2 communes of My Tu (Can Tho City) organized the composite speedboat swimming race (expanded), attracting a large number of athletes and people to watch and cheer.
Spring colors harmonized with the rhythm of drums and cheers created a vibrant festival atmosphere in the river region.

This year, the tournament attracted 118 participating teams, including 104 men's teams and 9 women's teams, divided into 2 competition categories.
Notably, in addition to the teams in the commune, there are also many teams from other localities and outside the province such as Ca Mau and An Giang. The impressive number of participating teams shows that the mass sports movement in My Tu is increasingly developing strongly and spreading widely.

On the race track, composite speedboats fenced off the waves and sped away amidst the endless cheers of the people. The competing teams showed a determined and united spirit, dedicating to the audience exciting and exciting competitions.

Mr. Duong Minh Chi, who participates in speedboat racing for the first time even though he is a ghe ngo racing athlete, shared that each type has its own technique, requiring smooth coordination and high effort from each member. "Just one deviation is enough to lose the advantage immediately," he said.
For local people, the race has become a "date" for Tet. Mr. Son Nuong said that he comes to watch every year. The bustling atmosphere makes those who are far from home returning for Tet holidays more attached to their homeland before returning to the city to work.

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Tri - Vice Chairman of My Tu Commune People's Committee (Can Tho City), the tournament is organized to create a joyful and healthy playground during the Lunar New Year, practically celebrating "Celebrating the Party, celebrating Binh Ngo Spring". Thereby, arousing the spirit of labor and production emulation, determined to successfully implement socio-economic development targets right from the first days of the new year.
At the same time, this is also an opportunity for people and workers far from home to celebrate Tet to have the opportunity to exchange, meet, and strengthen the spirit of solidarity and bond between ethnic communities in the area.
Not only is it an attractive sport, speedboat racing is also a unique cultural feature of the river region, maintained for many years. The tournament contributes to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Khmer people of Southern Vietnam.
