At noon on June 17, coach Okiyama Masahiko of the Vietnam U19 Women's Team attended a press conference before the final match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Women's Championship against Thailand U19 Women's Team.
At the beginning of the press conference, coach Okiyama Masahiko said that he had been following the U19 women's team in Thailand but had not yet analyzed much.
"In yesterday's previous matches and semi-finals, I watched Thailand U19 but the rainy weather could not be analyzed much, they had many good players. I have not worked with U19 Vietnam before they failed in the final, so I am not sure about that. Currently, our goal is still the same as at the beginning, we have one more match to complete that goal. But the match with the U19 Thai women's team is definitely a difficult match, I want the players to have a match to contribute to the fans", coach Okiyama Masahiko shared.
"In tomorrow's match and all the matches of U19 Vietnam, I want to say that set pieces are very important. The players have to be proactive and practice a lot of those situations. If we make good use of these situations, it will be an opportunity to open up and help our teammates become much more confident," coach Okiyama Masahiko added.

Regarding the weather conditions in Ho Chi Minh City, coach Okiyama Masahiko commented: "We were given early training conditions and have practiced to get used to the rainy weather. U19 Vietnam has taken the initiative and the players have grasped it very quickly. Thailand does not have 1 to 2 strong players but their upper team has 5 or 6 outstanding faces".
Finally, coach Okiyama Masahiko said that the Vietnam U19 women's team will try to keep a clean sheet against the Thailand U19 women's team.
"Actually, the matches in the group stage are different from the finals and semi-finals. Today's practice session will review and remind the goalkeeper to stay strong in front of Thailand's attack. We have also practiced and gotten used to Thailand's fast pace of competition. Keeping a clean sheet in the final is very difficult but we will try to do that. Of course, when it's time for the final, all options must be prepared," coach Okiyama Masahiko emphasized.
On the other side of the front line, coach Nuengrutai Srathongvian said that the Thai U19 women's team has the strongest force for the final match against the Vietnam U19 women's team. She also pointed out the 2 most notable factors on the U19 women's team of Vietnam.
"We are lucky, before the match no one was injured, health problems, U19 Thailand is very ready, U19 Vietnam is a great team and competing with them is a good experience for us. It will be another challenge.

In recent matches, the Vietnamese defense has played well, scoring against them is a huge challenge for us. Both teams have equal chances in the final. Vietnam's attack has 9 (Liu Huang Van), 19 (Thanh Hieu) and we will have a plan to focus on these two players", coach Nuengrutai Srathongvian assessed.
The 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Women's Championship final between Vietnam U19 Women's Championship and Thailand U19 Women's Championship will take place at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow (June 18) at Thong Nhat Stadium.
