Hoang Anh Gia Lai recruits 2 Brazilian players

On July 8, Hoang Anh Gia Lai club announced two new Brazilian players, striker Gabriel da Conceicao and midfielder Khevin Fraga.

Gabriel da Conceicao, born in 2001, is 1m84 tall and plays as a striker. He grew up in the training center of Botafogo (Brazil) and played for domestic teams such as CRB, figureirense and Marica. Most recently, he played for Boavista club, playing more than 20 matches and scoring 3 goals in the 2024-2025 season.

Coach Le Quang Trai hopes Gabriel will replace the position left by striker Washington Brandao. Brandao scored 6 goals in 16 matches last season.

Khevin Fraga was born in 1997, 1m92 tall, and can play as a central midfielder or centre-back. Before coming to Vietnam, he played for Hibernians (Malta), scored 5 goals, had 4 assists in 33 matches and won the Malta National Cup with the team in 2024.

Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club said that Fraga will help strengthen the defense and midfield after midfielders such as Dung Quang Nho, Chau Ngoc Quang and Minh Vuong left the team.

The mountain town team now has four Brazilian players, including two new players, Gabriel and Fraga, along with centre-back Jairo Filho and midfielder Marciel Silva, who have been involved since last season.

In addition to the players, the club also added Brazilian goalkeeper coach Higor Felliny Cruz to support the coaching of the first team and youth teams.
