Society today lacks control and is prone to fighting, but there are 2 recent cases that have attracted special attention. One is the story of a fat man attacking a small, vulnerable woman in an apartment building. And one was the woman who beat the young man who had been tattooed and took the initiative to attack her. How society reacts, what are the consequences, there is no further discussion, here, only talking about "learning martial arts" and "learning".
Learning martial arts, simply practicing techniques: punches, kicks, and falls. That is the skills of self-defense and safety in unexpected situations. But martial arts is another level, spirit. That is when we understand that martial arts is not for "fighting" but for "keeping". Stay calm in the face of conflict, stay brave in chaos, and stay personable when strength is in your hands.
The question is, if the girl in case 1 had studied martial arts, what would have happened? It is possible to still be attacked, but the reaction and extent of damage will be limited, and the man himself will also be a certain caution. The second girl - both opponent and society did not know she was martial arts (even if she was considered a sports fan) until she searched for information - knew how to use martial arts to defend herself, not to show off. When he had to attack, he still knew the limits.
That is the limit in martial arts spirit. The higher the attack, the more he must be motivated. "Shooting war" does not lie in issuing faster and stronger attacks, but in controlling violence when one is capable of creating violence. "Force" depends on appearance, tattoo or threat, not martial arts, let alone martial arts.
In today's life, it is easy to understand why people encourage "learning martial arts", to face pressure, to protect themselves. But once you have studied, you must step into the "learning zone": understand the power to nurture calmness, know when to stop, when to speak up.
Real strength does not lie in muscle or technique, but in autonomy. Martial arts is learning so that you don't need to use martial arts. Or as military experts still say: "To be peaceful, we must prepare for war!".
