The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Nam Nhan - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Ly Kim Luan - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF), Mr. Jorgen Sandman - Sports Director of the World pool billiards Association (WPA), Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh - Executive Director of Box Billiards Company Limited, Mr. Karim Belhaj - President of Predator and many players participating in the tournament.
In addition to the 2025 10-Ball Men's World Championship (2025 Predator WPA Men's 10-Ball World Championship), audiences who are passionate about pool in Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular will have the opportunity to watch another tournament in parallel from September 20 the Poison Cues Saigon Women's 9-Ball Open.
Previously, as part of the largest event series in the history of Vietnamese billiards, the Box Billiards Mixed Doubles Open International Men's and Women's doubles tournament ended with the championship belonging to the duo Joshua Filler and Pia Filler.

All 3 events including the 10-ball Men's World Championship, Box Billiards Mixed Doubles (10 bills, men's and women's doubles) and Poison Cues Saigon Women's 9-ball Open (9 women's bills) were co-organized by Box Billiards, Predator and the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF).
The total prize value of this year's international billiards event series reached 425,000 USD (equivalent to about 11.2 billion VND). The 2025 10-a-side men's world championship alone will cost $250,000 (nearly VND6.6 billion), of which the champion will receive $70,000 (about VND1.8 billion), the runner-up will receive $40,000, and the two third-place bronze players will receive $17,500 each.
This year's tournament brings together the 96 strongest players in the world, including many outstanding stars such as defending champion Carlo Biado, Fedor Gorst, Joshua Filler, Shane Van Boening, Eklent Kaci, Ko Pin Yi and Ko Ping Chung, ...
After 3 days of competition in the warm-up round, the next 16 players to participate in the final round have been determined including: AJ Manas, Gamas Edwin, Jeffrey Prieto, Jonas Magpantay, Lin Ta Li, Liu Ri Teng, Mark Estiola, Michael Feliciano, Moritz Neuhausen, Nguyen Bao Chau, Nguyen Van Huynh, Raymund Faraon, Sun Yi Hsuan, Wang Ming, Yukio Akagariyama, Zhu bra bra bra.
Thus, Vietnam will have 4 representatives participating in the 2025 10-Ball Men's World Championship Final Round (2025 Predator WPA Men's 10-Ball World Championship): Duong Quoc Hoang, Pham Phuong Nam, Nguyen Bao Chau and Nguyen Van Huynh.
In the opening stage, 96 athletes competed in a double format (two opportunities) to select the 32 best players. From round 32 onwards, the tournament will move to a knockout round to find the world champion.
