On July 22, the Standard Chartered Hanoi Heritage Marathon 2026 was officially announced in Hanoi, marking the third consecutive season being held.
This year's event takes place from November 6 to 8, of which the main competition day is November 8, with distances of 42.195 km, 21.0975 km, 10 km, 5 km and Kid Dash 2.1 km for children.
A notable point of this year's season is the appearance of the Business Cup, a new playground for businesses to participate in competition.
The champion team will receive a prize of a trip to Shanghai to participate in the Standard Chartered Shanghai 10KM Run, thereby expanding opportunities to interact with the international running community. In parallel, Race Expo, Leaders Run and many other networking activities will also continue to be organized within the framework of the event.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tri Man - Director of Strategy and Market Development, said: "Sports in general and running in particular are representatives of a healthy lifestyle. With this tournament, we not only strive to please athletes, bring them a safe and successful tournament with good personal achievements, but also want to use this event as a platform to promote and connect good values such as civilization, solidarity and environmental friendliness".
In 2026, the tournament continues to implement many activities associated with sustainable development goals. The jersey is made from recycled fiber to reduce plastic waste, accompanying Vietnam's net zero emission target by 2050.
In addition, the program "Giving old shoes - Receiving joy" continues to collect used shoes to give to children and people in difficult circumstances. The "Lighting up the Runway" activity is also maintained to support visually impaired athletes through a network of companions and appropriate support plans.
Another highlight of the season is the selection of Long Bien Bridge as the official symbol. In addition to its cultural and historical significance, this image also expresses a connection message between sports, heritage and community.
The competition results at the tournament are also continuously recognized in the Age Group Ranking System of Abbott World Marathon Majors, creating conditions for athletes to accumulate achievements to aim for prestigious marathons in the world.
