On September 11, a press conference was held in Hanoi to announce the start of the National Student Open Cup 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Manh - General Secretary of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, representative of the tournament organizing committee said: "E-sports in recent years have developed, being officially included in the competition program at continental and regional tournaments such as the SEA Games, ASIAD... affirming the position of a legitimate sport.
Organizing a national student e-sports tournament is an opportunity to develop facilities and train human resources for career development, from the organizing and management team to referees, coaches and athletes".
Mr. Manh emphasized that the tournament will encourage students to practice, improve their bravery, spread strongly, becoming the leading national student Esports event, aiming at the Olympic spirit of "Faster - Higher - Stronger - Together".
Following the success of the first season in 2023, NSOC season 2 was organized on an expanded scale, with upgraded content and the expectation of creating a more professional, modern, and civilized playground for the student community who love e-sports in Vietnam.

The tournament officially opened the registration portal from September 11 and kicked off on September 29. The national final is expected to be held on November 16, 2025 at Tay Ho Stadium, Hanoi.
Athletes will compete in the two sports of Valorant and balance of the Red Pine to find the winner of the prize worth up to 2 billion VND.
NSOC 2025 promises to be the largest, most explosive and anticipated eSports event in 2025 for the Vietnamese student community in particular and the eSports fan community in general.
