Today (September 17), Dong Thap University held a launching ceremony and drew lots to schedule the first Dong Thap University Cup Football Tournament in 2025.
This year's tournament has the participation of Dong Thap University (host), FPT University Can Tho, Cuu Long University, Saigon College of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, Dong Nai University of Technology, Kien Giang University, Vinh Long University of Education and Technology.
The 8 participating teams are divided into 2 groups, competing in a round-robin to select the first and second teams in each group to enter the semi-finals. The two teams that won the final will qualify for the final, while the two teams that lost the semi-final will compete for third place.
The tournament has a total prize value of more than 100 million VND. The champion team received 20 million VND, the second place team received 15 million VND, the two third-place teams received 10 million VND/team, and the style team received 7 million VND. In addition, the tournament also has individual titles such as excellent player, top scorer, excellent goalkeeper, excellent referee for completing tasks. In addition, in each match, the organizing committee also awarded the first scorer and the best player of each match worth 500,000 VND/tournament in cash.
