The 33rd SEA Games will take place in Thailand later this year. After 18 years, the land of the Golden Temple has returned to be the host of a Southeast Asian Games. The last time the country hosted the Games was in 2007.
Accordingly, the 2025 Southeast Asian Games received great expectations from fans about the organization as well as the fierce competition between countries.
According to Lao Dong, up to now, host Thailand has not announced the selling price of television and broadcasting rights for the 33rd SEA Games.
It is expected that when the meeting of heads of sports delegations of countries participating in the 33rd SEA Games takes place, the organizing committee of the host country will announce the copyright price for this event. At that time, Vietnamese broadcasters can start negotiating and bargaining to reach the most reasonable number before buying the copyright.
Previously, at the 32nd SEA Games, host Cambodia, sold television rights for 800,000 USD (more than 18 billion VND). However, nearly a month before the Games started, this country decided not to collect exclusive broadcasting rights fees for SEA Games 32 for domestic and international broadcasters.
Therefore, some television stations in Vietnam, Indonesia... have been refunded by the commercial partners of the Cambodian organizing committee.
At this time, fans are wondering how much the copyright price of the 33rd SEA Games is. If the number is too high, it will affect the negotiation process of Vietnamese broadcasters. It is likely that Vietnam Television VTV will work with its Thai partner to prepare for the broadcasting and content production at the 33rd SEA Games.
