Recently, swimmer Nguyen Quang Thuan was awarded the decision to be promoted to the rank of professional military lieutenant. This is a worthy recognition after his contributions to Vietnamese sports in general and Army sports in particular.
2025 is also an important milestone in the career of the athlete born in 2006, when he made his mark and achieved success in many domestic and international arenas.

Quang Thuan's biggest highlight is the 33rd SEA Games held in Thailand. In the men's 400m individual medley event, the young swimmer surpassed senior Hung Nguyen to win a gold medal with a time of 4 minutes 19 seconds 98.
Not stopping there, Anh Vien's younger brother also contributed 2 more bronze medals in other events, contributing to the overall achievement of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation. These results show Quang Thuan's stability and multi-sport ability, and also reflect the methodical preparation process over a long period of time.
In domestic tournaments, Quang Thuan also maintains high form. At the 2025 National Excellent Athlete Swimming Championships, he won many gold medals for the Army delegation and was awarded the title of best male athlete of the tournament by the organizers.

Nguyen Quang Thuan is also noticed as the younger brother of former swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, who has won many international medals for Vietnamese swimming.
In 2023, Anh Vien was promoted to the rank of professional lieutenant colonel at the age of 27. Therefore, Quang Thuan being promoted to the rank of lieutenant at the age of 19 shows the inheritance and continuity in the family.
With the results achieved in 2025, Nguyen Quang Thuan is one of the typical faces of Vietnamese swimming in the force transition phase, aiming for long-term goals in the regional and continental arenas.
