On the evening of December 12, swimmer Nguyen Quang Thuan brought home a gold medal for Vietnamese swimming at the 33rd SEA Games. This is a special milestone in Quang Thuan's career when the male swimmer won his first gold medal in the men's individual 400m event.
In contrast to the emotional celebrations and cheers, the younger brother of former swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien celebrated gently, smiling friendlyly, and sharing joy with fans and the media.
Right after the moment her younger brother stepped onto the podium, Anh Vien posted on her personal Facebook page, expressing her best wishes.
"I know what you have gone through. For the past 10 years, I have tried tirelessly and today all my efforts have finally been rewarded. She and her family are really proud of her. Just get up, your journey is just getting started. I believe the best things are still waiting for me," Anh Vien wrote.
