Sharing at the event, the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation said it will organize two quality tournaments. First is the 2025 National Taekwondo Youth Championship, taking place from June 19 to 26. This tournament brings together excellent young fighters nationwide, aiming to select additional talent for national teams.
After that, VTF will coordinate with other units to organize the Vietnam Open International Taekwondo Tournament - CJ Vietnam Open 2025, under the World Taekwondo G1 system, taking place from June 26 to 29. This is the first time Vietnam has hosted a G1 tournament.
Both tournaments are held at Go Vap Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation and CJ Vietnam Group signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation, opening a comprehensive professional phase in organizing competitions and developing the Taekwondo movement in Vietnam.
Previously, CJ has accompanied Vietnamese Taekwondo since 2012, contributing to many impressive achievements such as the silver medal at the 2017 World Championship, 4th place at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and 5 gold medals at the 31st SEA Games.
Starting from 2025, this unit will continue to support the organization of Vietnam Open G1 and expand the youth competition system, creating opportunities for international competition for Vietnamese Taekwondo athletes and coaches.
Compared to previous tournaments, this year's organizing committee has made a difference with attractive bonuses, for both athletes and coaches with high achievements. This promises to create attractive competition between athlete delegations.
Sharing at the event, VTF Chairman Truong Ngoc To affirmed: "This event not only demonstrates the strong vitality of the young Taekwondo movement but is also a symbol of the spirit of integration, connecting martial arts and Vietnamese - Korean culture through sports".
