MMA LION Championship 20 Mixed Martial Arts Schedule

LION Championship 20 (LC 20) - the closing event of 2024 of the Vietnamese professional MMA tournament LION Championship will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 14 at Tay Ho Stadium, Hanoi.

The highlight match of LC 20 recreates the confrontation exactly one year ago between Nghiem Van Y and Felipe Negochadle in the 65kg weight class. This time, the champion and challenger positions of both will be switched after the result of the previous match.

With Felipe Negochadle delivering an impressive title win at LC 11 on December 11, 2023. After a year of waiting with international commitments, the Brazilian will return to fulfill his duties as a champion. Meanwhile, with a long year of preparation and a technical knockout victory at LC18, Nghiem Van Y is full of ambition to reclaim his lost title.

In the 70kg weight class, fans will witness the clash between champion Kamil Michal Nguyen Van and challenger Jovidon Khojaev (Tajikistan). Also at the LC11 event, Kamil Nguyen Van won the title to prove himself as one of the most comprehensive fighters in Vietnamese MMA at the moment.

In this title defense, the Vietnamese-Polish boxer will face a boxer 14 years younger than him. After competing in tournaments in the US and Europe, Jovidon is aiming to win his first championship in Vietnam.

In the remaining match in the women's 60kg category, reigning champion Chelsey Cashwell of the United States will defend her title against Lo Thi Tam - an international Wushu Sanshou master. Lo Thi Tam currently has only one victory at this year's LION Championship.

In addition to the 3 title matches, LION Championship 20 continues to witness friendly matches between Vietnamese representatives and foreign opponents. Top 1 in the 60kg category, Tran Ngoc Luong, will welcome the representative from Cambodia - Rin Saroth.

Meanwhile, Quang Van Minh is the third fighter at LION Championship to participate in the exchange missions. The opponent that Van Minh welcomes is still a fighter from Germany - Elias Kopp, who owns a grappling background with 3 wins on the MMA floor. Therefore, this is definitely an unpredictable unknown for Quang Van Minh.

In addition to the above confrontations, LION Championship 20 gives the opportunity to appear for young talents who have already made their names.

In the women's 52kg category, "teacher" Lo Thi Phung will face female boxer Tran Tra My. With a series of recent wins, both are aiming for a championship title after this event.
