Chairman of the Vietnam kickboxing Federation, Mr. Vu Duc Thinh, said that the "hot" awards for the 33rd SEA Games achievements are a spiritual encouragement for the fighters to strive to compete and achieve the highest results.
The announced prizes are 500 USD (over 13 million VND), 300 USD (over 7 million VND) and 200 USD (over 5 million VND) for each gold medal, silver medal and bronze medal at the 33rd SEA Games.
The Vietnamese kickboxing team aims to strive to win a gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games. This year's tournament will only organize 8 competitions. The Vietnamese kickboxing team participating in the 33rd SEA Games includes the following fighters: Trieu Thi Phuong Thuy, Hoang Thi Thuy Giang, Bui Thi Yen Nhi, Nguyen Quang Huy, Nguyen Dinh Thai, Nguyen Dinh Minh Khue, Hoang Gia Dai, Duong Danh Hoat.
Two years ago, the Vietnamese kickboxing fighter won 4 gold medals at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia. However, the number of events competed in at that time was 17. In Thailand this year, the number of events has been shortened to 8, so the competition is predicted to be very fierce.
The Vietnamese kickboxing team will go to Thailand to participate in the 33rd SEA Games on December 11. The fighters will have enough time to get acquainted with the competition location before the official competition on December 13. Currently, the players are training in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
