A Deputy Referee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has just been dismissed for violating regulations. It seems like nothing is too big a problem, so that the above sentence can be applied. However, in the management position of the system that plays an important role for Vietnamese football, small errors also become big. And it needs to be handled properly.
What is that mistake? "Only" is to shorten 2 runs (6 to 4) in the 60m race for 3 female referees. What made a former FIFA referee who also won the "Vietnam Golden Rooster" award think and act like that? Psychologically, it can be a waste, when thinking that 4 or 6 is not much different. Moreover, the people being supervised are women.
Of course, somewhere, at some point, with something, the chaos can be accepted. However, when the refereeing stage is a sensitive and often controversial issue in the activities of Vietnamese football, the problem is unacceptable. And VFF assessed this as a "serious violation".
No one is optimistic, but who knows, if something happens to these female referees - for example, a mistake affects the result of the match, affects the championship race of the teams, people will definitely repeat the violation of this regulation as the cause.
Small mistakes, but such a big impact. And in fact, if we deeply understand the problem, reducing the number of runs that seem to help is a disadvantage for the referees. Here, another aspect is that sometimes, it is the referees themselves - or anyone in a situation where someone is being accused of something - who have to question and request the right to conduct a full test.
In other words, it is to see the mistake and need to speak up to both help yourself and others, and to minimize the risks of major events in the future.
