The 2026 National Athletics Championship relay competition program is still taking place enthusiastically at Kon Tum Stadium (Quang Ngai) on August 23.
On the competition day, 2 new national records were set and marked by national team players.
In the 4x800m men's relay final, the Dong Nai team with 4 athletes Luong Duc Phuoc, Sam Van Doi, Ly Toan Phat Di, Truong Nhat Linh competed effectively to finish first and win the gold medal with a time of 7 minutes 33 seconds 02.
The result has been recognized as a new national record for the event. The old record was set by the Hanoi relay team in 2022 at 7 minutes 35 seconds 09.
In the squad of Dong Nai Athletics, Luong Duc Phuoc and Sam Van Doi are currently players of the Vietnam Athletics Team.
At this time, Luong Duc Phuoc is one of the leading athletes of Vietnamese athletics in the 800m event.
The 2nd national record of the competition day was in the 4x200m men's relay event.
The People's Police Team including 4 faces Ngan Ngoc Nghia, Lam Quang Huy, Dinh Hoang Quoc Bao, Truong Van Hieu won the No. 1 position with a time of 1 minute 22 seconds 07.
This result surpassed the old national record by 1 minute 23 seconds 01 to be recognized as a new national record.
In the above squad, athlete Ngan Ngoc Nghia is currently a Vietnamese national athletics athlete.
On the same competition day, fans also witnessed some championship results of Thanh Hoa team in the 4x400m men's and women's relay for the U20 age group (3 minutes 27 seconds 03, breaking the youth record), Army in the 4x200m women's relay (1 minute 36 seconds 06), People's Police in the 4x100m men's and women's relay for the U20 age group (43"08, breaking the youth record), Da Nang in the 4x800m women's relay (8 minutes 59 seconds 01), Quang Tri 1 in the 4x800m men's and women's relay for the U20 age group (8 minutes 31 seconds 09)...
