Le Thi Cam Tu is 1 of 9 athletes of the Vietnam Athletics Team sent to compete in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.

Le Thi Cam Tu still maintains mental comfort during training sessions at the National High-Level Athlete Training Center at the present time.

Before going to China to compete in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship, she once modestly expressed: "I can't say anything yet, but all my professional preparation is very thorough and I will try my best to achieve the highest results.

More than half a year ago, Le Thi Cam Tu made a big surprise when she won a silver medal in the 200m event at SEA Games 33 in Thailand.

Experts highly appreciate Cam Tu when her result of 23 seconds 14 at SEA Games 33 became a new national record. The achievement to break the old record held by former player Vu Thi Huong since 2010 is 23 seconds 27.

After half a year, now, Le Thi Cam Tu is one of the key athletes of the short distance team of the Vietnam Athletics Team.

Before going to China to compete in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship, Cam Tu competed and won a gold medal at the Singapore Open International Athletics Tournament 2026.

At the Central Stadium in Singapore, she won a gold medal in the 200m event with a result of 23 seconds 64.

However, the coaches of the Vietnamese athletics team and especially the short distance team want to carefully check Cam Tu's performance parameters in the upcoming 2026 AFC U23 Championship.

Because, she has just completed a training session in France. The training program is implemented to help Cam Tu and the short-distance team accumulate expertise according to the assigned tasks.

The training session in France brings many professional values. Each athlete understands more about the capabilities that need to be perfected to accelerate to achieve the best performance threshold," a representative of the coaching staff of the Vietnamese athletics team revealed.

Le Thi Cam Tu is currently the female athlete with the best results in the women's 200m event of the Vietnam Athletics Team. She is capable of competing for a medal at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.

However, the distant goal of the Vietnamese athletics team is not only the achievement in the youth tournament but also the good professional parameters that the main athlete must have to compete for medals at ASIAD 20.

If she maintains her highest form, Le Thi Cam Tu has enough opportunities to be awarded a ticket to ASIAD 20. The results at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship will be an important achievement for Cam Tu personally to show her ability after the training session in France recently.

According to the plan, members of the Vietnamese Athletics Team will go to China to get acquainted with the field and climate early. All will officially compete in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship from July 9 to July 12.

Cam Tu is aimed at winning a medal in her forte 200m event at this tournament.
