The event has practical significance in celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (19502025), the year of Vietnam-China humanitarian exchange, and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the friendly city relationship between Mong Cai and Dongxing.
Attending and directly participating in cycling exchanges, on the side of Mong Cai City (Vietnam), there were Mr. Hoang Ba Nam - Secretary of Mong Cai City Party Committee; Mr. Ho Quang Huy - Chairman of Mong Cai City People's Committee.

On the side of Dongxing City (China), there were Mr. Peng Shaoun - Secretary of the Dongxing City Party Committee; Mr. Li Kien - Head of the People's Government of Dongxing City.
This cycling tournament attracted more than 500 athletes from both countries to participate.
This is the first time that cross-border cycling activities through typical landmarks and landscapes of the two cities have been organized, creating an activity of profound people-to-people exchange, strengthening solidarity and friendship between the people of the two countries.
The bicycle route is about 25 km long, starting from Son Hai Tuong Lien Iconic Square, Dongxing City (China). Athletes cycling through the inner city routes of Dongxing to the Dongxing Border Riverside Avenue, entering Vietnam through Mong Cai International Border Gate (Bac Luan 2 bridge area).
In Mong Cai, the athlete group continued their journey through Tran Nhan Tong Street (Provincial Road 335) to Tra Co - Binh Ngoc Tourism symbol, finishing at Mui Sa Vi, Tra Co Ward.

The first cross-border cycling tournament in 2025 is a special and practical people's foreign affairs event to deploy the common awareness achieved at the Early Spring 2025 Meeting Program between the Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committees of Vietnam (Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang) and the Secretaries of the Quangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee (China).
The event is a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2025).
With an exciting atmosphere and a spirit of sportsmanship, after about 2 hours of competition, more than 500 athletes from both countries have successfully completed the roadmap, ensuring absolute safety. The organizing committee presented medals to the participating athletes.
