HCMC - Taking advantage of the great Vesak 2025, the national treasure of India, will arrive in HCMC on January 2 by military aircraft, opening a series of events for the 2025 General Strike.

According to information from Venerable Thich Duc Thien, Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Buddhist Church of Vietnam, this precious Buddhist relics, discovered in 1898 and is currently religious at the New Delhi National Museum, which has a huge meaning. In order to invite this treasure to Vietnam on the occasion of the UN Vesak Ceremony 2025, the Government of Vietnam has conducted special diplomatic procedures since the end of 2024, showing the special respect and meaning of this event. The Indian side also paid special attention to the preparation and sending the expert team to Vietnam to survey the best storage conditions for the Buddha relics.

The amateur travel by military personnel shows the absolute solemnity and security for this national treasure. In Ho Chi Minh City, the Buddha's grace will be honored from May 2-8 at Thanh Tam Pagoda (Binh Chanh District), Lang Le Park campus and Le Minh Xuan Vietnam Buddhist Academy.

The journey of the beneficial procession will continue to Nui Ba Den National Tourist Area (Tay Ninh) from May 8 13.3, then return to Hanoi to decorate at the headquarters of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Quan Su Pagoda (from 13-16.5) and finally Tam Chuc Pagoda, Ha Nam (from 17-21.5). The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha is committed to ensuring all requirements of security, temperature and humidity according to Indian standards throughout the journey.

In Hanoi, the festival of performances of the Buddha's grace and pray for national peace will take place around Hoan Kiem Lake according to the agreed detailed route.

The Buddha's grace offering event took place in the context of Vietnam hosting the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival in Ho Chi Minh City from May 6-8, expected to attract about 1,250 international delegates from 80 countries and 5 territories.

Detailed schedule of main events in Ho Chi Minh City:

2.5: The procession and ceremony of the Buddha's protection at Thanh Tam Pagoda, Lang Le Park and Le Minh Xuan Buddhist Academy.

3.5: Opening ceremony of worshiping the Buddha's grace at Thanh Tam pagoda and performing the heart-to-heart surgery for the relics of Thich Quang Duc in Vietnam Quoc Tu.

May 4: Opening of Buddhist cultural exhibition events at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy.

May 6: Opening of the 2025 United Nations Generalment Day.

September 7: International scientific conference of the Vesak Festival.

May 8: Closing of the Vesak Festival, afternoon visit at Ba Den Mountain Cultural Area (Tay Ninh).

September 9: Sending international delegates back home.
