According to Lao Dong's investigation, the send-off ceremony of the Vietnamese sports delegation to participate in ASIAD 20 is expected to be held in Hanoi.
The program is being built to be scheduled to be held on September 9.
However, specialized units are developing a script for the Launching Ceremony and an appropriate time to report to the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism before making a final decision.
ASIAD 20 will be held in Aichi-Nagoya (Japan) with the official time from September 19 to October 4.
However, some sports will start competing from September 10 based on the official schedule.
The Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports is reviewing the final force to be ready to issue a decision to establish the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to participate in ASIAD 20 in the near future.
It is expected that we will have nearly 500 members participating in competition at ASIAD 20.
At ASIAD 19 held in 2023 in Hangzhou (China), the Vietnamese sports delegation participated with 504 members.
ASIAD 20 will compete in 469 events of 43 official sports (71 sub-sports). The list of sports of ASIAD 20 includes: Aquatics (swimming, artistic swimming, diving, water polo), archery, athletics, badminton, softball, baseball, basketball, boxing, breaking jumping, canoeing, sparring martial arts (jujitsu, kurash, MMA), cricket (T20), cycling, artistic horse racing, e-sports, fencing, football, golf, gymnastics, handball, hockey, judo, kabaddi, karate, 5 modern sports – pentathlon, rowing, rugby (7 people), sailing, sepak takraw, shooting, skateboarding, mountain climbing, squash, surfing, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, wushu, padel, teqball.
The host country Japan's organizers said that the ASIAD 20 torch relay program will be held from August 22nd to September 18th in locations in Japan.
