The Vietnam Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) has conducted doping testing samples before ASIAD 20 for Vietnamese national sports teams.
The total number of doping test samples taken is 70. According to Lao Dong's investigation, athletes were randomly sampled for doping tests.
The sports where doping testing samples are taken are those that are assessed as having a risk of being exposed to banned substances in competition.
Sample taking for athlete testing before ASIAD is a program implemented according to the regulations of the Organizing Committee and in accordance with the procedures of the World Anti-Doping Agency - WADA.
Since the beginning of 2026, the International Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has sent updated information on the list of banned substances in sports that have been announced.
The lists of banned substances applied to all Asian Games include the Asian Beach Games, ASIAD 20 and the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2026 (AIMAG 2026).
According to a representative of the Vietnam Anti-Doping Center, athletes registered to participate in ASIAD 20 will have to undergo at least 1 doping test outside of competition within 6 months before the Opening Ceremony of the Games.
For high-risk sports, regulations require taking samples at least 2 times.
All athletes participating in ASIAD 20 must participate in doping prevention and control education classes implemented by VADA and complete registration on doping prevention and control declaration on the system in accordance with regulations.
