Vietnamese players compete in the first rounds of the US Open 2025 billiards tournament (USA). This is a tournament in the World Nineball Tour system of the 9-a-side world pool billiards.
Nguyen Anh Tuan is the first representative of Vietnam to be in the group of 64 best players. In the first round, this player beat Daniel Klochenok with a score of 9-4. In the second round, Anh Tuan beat Dimitris Loukatos with a score of 9-3.
In the third round, Anh Tuan easily defeated David Alcaide with a score of 9-3 and was placed in the group of 64 best players in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Duong Quoc Hoang lost 3-9 to Hayato Hijikata in the first round. Therefore, Duong Quoc Hoang had to play the next match in the losing branch. The Vietnamese player won 8-4 against Jj Faul. After this match, Duong Quoc Hoang won with a score of 8-5 against Dean Shields. In the early morning of August 21, Duong Quoc Hoang will face Marc Bijsterbosch to win the right to continue for himself in the tournament.
Late on August 20, player Luong Duc Thien will compete with Carlo Biado while Nguyen Hoang Tuan will meet Harry Vegara to compete for a ticket to round 64. At the 2025 US Open, Vietnamese billiards witnessed Pham Phuong Nam, Nguyen Thang and Le Quang Trung stopping.
The 2025 US Open billiards tournament will last until August 23, local time in the US.
