The final matches of the 2026 National Excellent Youth Badminton Tournament closed at the Bac Ninh Provincial Sports Center late on July 18, and Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen maintained the No. 1 position in women's singles U17.
In the final match, Thu Huyen overwhelmingly won against opponent Le Nguyen Ngoc Nga (HCMC) to win the No. 1 position for herself.
With this result, Thu Huyen continuously won gold medals in women's singles in the last 3 tournaments of the national youth badminton system in 2026, which are the Youth Championship, the Youth Age Group Championship and the Excellent Youth and Children's Championship.
Also at the tournament, Thu Huyen participated in the U17 women's doubles final with teammate Tran Thao An but only won a silver medal due to losing to the pair Nguyen Bao Ngoc/Pham Thanh Hang (Bac Ninh).
This year's tournament attracted 466 players from 26 units nationwide to compete.
The Ho Chi Minh City Youth Badminton Team won first place with outstanding results of 10 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 12 bronze medals, while the host team Bac Ninh won second place (3 gold medals, 4 silver medals, 7 bronze medals).
Hai Phong team holds third place (2 silver medals, 4 bronze medals).
Thu Huyen and Dong Nai team are ranked 5th with a total of 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 2 bronze medals.
