The tournament took place at Vietpadel Country Club, Ho Chi Minh City on December 20 and 21, attracting the participation of nearly 100 domestic and international tennis players.
Of which, 90% are international athletes from many countries such as France, Spain, Denmark, Brazil, Colombia, South Africa... The event marked an important turning point of the Vietnam Padel movement on the international sports map.
The tournament is organized by the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF) in coordination with other units, marking the first time Vietnam has organized a national tournament in Padel.
After many intense matches in the open men's doubles, open men's and women's doubles, open women's doubles, amateur men's doubles, amateur men's and women's doubles, the players brought a sporty spirit, giving eye-catching and dramatic plays.
Padel Vietnam Open 2025 - Vietravel Cup not only creates a national playground for athletes to compete, but also marks a new step forward for the Vietnam padel movement. The success of the tournament is a great motivation for Vietpadel Club and padel development units across the country, said Mr. Le Pham Thanh Phong - Director of Vietpadel.
The tournament saw highly rated players show convincing performance, moving into the final round and bringing top-notch confrontations to the audience. The deeper you go, the more padel's unique skills and tactics stand out from pure tennis, showing the appeal of this sport and promising to attract more semi-professional and professional tennis players to try their hand in the near future.
Athlete Rita (HCMC) said: The first time participating in a national tournament, I clearly felt the competition and the scale were greater. I hope there will be more national tournaments in the coming time".
With the success achieved in the tournament held for the first time, the Vietnam Tennis Federation will continue to plan for development, raising the level of the tournament in 2026, aiming to expand the scale of international athletes; increase the number of professional matches; bring Padel to a deeper reach to young people and the grassroots sports community.
Padel is developing strongly in many countries in the region such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand or the Philippines and has been included in a number of major sporting events. It is a very encouraging thing for Vietnam to quickly grasp the general trend of the world, to widely spread Padel to everyone, towards the ability to compete with neighboring countries and go further in continental competitions.
