Oscar was heavily fined after a fight in the Chinese National Championship

The former Chelsea midfielder has officially been suspended for 8 matches and fined $6,000 after causing a stir in the match between Shanghai SIPG and Guangzhou R&F last weekend.

This is a match of round 13 of the Chinese Super League taking place on June 18. In a late first half, Oscar, a Shanghai SIPG midfielder, was said to have deliberately kicked the ball very hard at the two opponent players.

After that behavior, a group of players from the Quangzhou R&F team rushed in to "conference" with this Brazilian midfielder. The players and coaching staff of the two teams created a fight on the field.

For that reason, the main referee gave a red card to Tixiang Li, the first player to be hit by Oscar's shot, and Huan Fu, Oscar's teammate. In addition, 3 other players have also received yellow cards.

However, this is not the final penalty. Today (6.22), the Chinese Football Association (CFA) issued a long-term ban on 4 players, including Oscar. He was banned from playing 8 matches and had to pay a fine of 40,000 yuan (about 6,000 USD). That means he will be out of the Chinese National Championship until the end of August.

The CFA announcement stated: Oscars behavior was unethical, causing a fight right on the pitch, creating a very negative impact on Chinas professional football matches.

The CFA plays an important role in issuing disciplinary laws, especially for acts of violence and non-sporting. Hopefully, these severe disciplinary measures will have an impact on the teams in maintaining order in matches and protecting the development of football."

S&F player Tixiang Li was suspended for 5 matches in the Chinese National Championship while the penalty for Shanghai SIPG's Huan Fu was 6 matches. The player who pushed Oscar down - Chen Zhizhao is also banned from playing 7 matches in this tournament. In addition, the two clubs were also fined and warned for their actions.

According to the transfermarkt website, Oscar is currently the player with the highest transfer value in the Chinese National Championship. Oscar's transfer from Chelsea to Shanghai SIPG in January this year was worth 60 million pounds.
