I dont know what to say because its just a Silver Medal, but I find this a very meaningful result for me. This medal is also the beginning of the achievements of the Vietnam Wushu Team - Dang Tran Phuong Nhi expressed right on the stage in Thailand.
At the end of the performances for men's rights, men's Con and men's swords, Phuong Nhi held the overall second place. With a different format in wushu at this 33rd SEA Games, each taolu fighter must perform 3 sports and then have an average score to be awarded a medal.
Dang Tran Phuong Nhi was a 2023 World Wushu Champion, having won a medal at the 2025 Asian Cup, but was surprised to learn that this was the first time she had a medal at the Southeast Asian Games. The golden girl of Vietnamese wushu and Hanoi sports enters the 33rd SEA Games with many worries.
Before attending the congress, I had a neck injury. I was afraid that I could not do the best of the performances. However, I was encouraged by the coaches as well as I tried my best in each exercise. Therefore, I have a medal result in Thailand" - the female player shared.
She revealed that she once thought about withdrawing or not competing, but when she received the best health care and witnessed her teammates practicing ready for the 33rd SEA Games, she was very excited.
"Now I feel that I am still confident that preparing and competing in the 33rd SEA Games is completely reasonable." When asked Phuong Nhi about the upcoming goals when she has a Silver Medal at the 33rd SEA Games, she expressed that she will practice more carefully to find an opportunity to change the color of the medal at the 34th SEA Games. However, the most important goal that the athlete wants to aim for is to attend and get the best result at the 20th ASIAD in 2026.
I am still focusing all my ability on wushu. I am very happy to have many audiences cheer for the Vietnam Wushu Team at the 33rd SEA Games" - she expressed.
