F1 2021 has had 15 races. The Qatar GP will be the destination of speed sports in November.
Specifically, this race in the West Asian country will replace the Australian GP race that was canceled due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. Qatar GP will be held from 19 to 21 November 2021 with Losail racetrack as the host.
The official race will take place at 6:00 p.m. on November 21, Qatar time (ie 10:00 p.m. on November 21, Vietnam time). The Qatar GP will be one of four races taking place in the Middle East for the 2021 F1 season.
Previously, Bahrain GP hosted the first race of this year's season, taking place from March 26 to 28, 2021. After the Qatar GP, there are two more speed events in the region, including the race in Saudi Arabia, held from December 3 to 5, 2021, and Abu Dhabi in the UAE, held from December 10 to 12, 2021.
This is the first year Qatar has hosted an F1 race. Previously, the country was only a destination for another speed sport, the Moto GP, since 2004. Notably, in the 2022 season, the Qatar GP will not take place to make way for the World Cup finals.
However, the F1 organizing committee, headed by CEO Stefano Domenicali and Chairman of the Qatar Athletics Association - Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Latif Al Mannai, have signed a long-term contract to organize the Qatar GP for up to 10 years, starting from 2023.
Thus, in the future, the Qatar GP will be an annual destination for F1 trackers and sports fans.
